An article that was written by @CIO is exciting and a topic that we should all be taking into consideration.

We are all preparing our teams for the next round of projects in our Digital Transformation; the governance team will be scoring these projects. It is easy to hold off on some projects, as we are all waiting to see what the new normal is.

Don’t do that: Rather, accelerate business transformation efforts now to put yourself in a better position after the pandemic passes, say experts and CIOs.

“You have to avoid the tendency to slash and burn your transformation and revert back to your traditional working model, which is human nature,”

Steve Bates, global leader of KPMG’s CIO centre of excellence, tells CIO.com.

Shifting your business or operations into top gear and unlocking the potential of digital technology requires change managed by right-sized methodologies and frameworks. Placing your culture at the heart of any strategy plays a significant role in how the status quo is challenged. The way your organisation experiments with technology and change, and how comfortable it is with failure is a great start.

CIOs opting to hunker down and wait out COVID-19 should think again. By revving up their digital business strategies, they position themselves for growth when the pandemic subsides, say experts and CIOs.
