The three key focuses for Leaders ahead

We all know that the pandemic will one day be behind us and hopefully soon… but that doesn’t mean that organisations can probably return to business as usual. We have all be extremely challenged and disrupted.

Pivoting quickly and refocusing with attention to solve critical challenges is our new way forward. Rapid change thrust upon us and the acceleration of new work environments and technology changes – alongside cyber threats, mean we are up on our toes all the time now as leaders or other.

In this “new world” is widespread social anxiety and even geopolitical uncertainty that is contributing to a sense of dis-ease. We are not settled though we are all trying  to respond well. Our regional trading partners continue to move away or towards each other, and the threats within ICT security and data loss are true markers that the world is on a new path that requires us to move or “bounce” back and respond in a different way. For regional leaders, to bounce forward requires a focusing on the three critical areas:

  1. Climate and sustainability focus – including how you manage water and meter this resource because smartmeters and protecting that water infrastructure from cyber threats is needed more than ever.
  2. How to digitally transform? How do we deliver a more connected experience for communities and fix connection “Black Spots” in your region so that your messages are more available to the communities you serve?
  3. Becoming resilient; Leaders and organisations in order to deliver on strategic goals or others ahead are finding a more resilient approach is required.

Organisations such as regional councils that deliver community value, water authorities, port authorities and private companies that can develop a “competitive advantage” to allow them to thrive now, and into the future will all struggle with the above and the speed of change. The rate of change occurring today means that with what limited budget and resources you have, acting quickly—and boldly, is the new way forward. Good advice before you leap is where we fit in.

Our Australian Council benchmarked data, nearly 20 years of experience and our developed capability will help you deliver the value of your strategic goals and help you get a quick realignment if needed. Be sure to call, and we would be glad to let you speak to one of our clients and have them tell you how we do it better.
