The Data Center Institute is a global think tank that focuses on the emerging trends around innovation, technological change, macro-economic shifts and workforce dynamics that shape the data centre and IT infrastructure industry worldwide. Board members of the Data Center Institute are selected for their depth of expertise, experience and forward-thinking insights. Mike Andrea has over 27 years’ experience in the ICT industry, covering strategy, design and management across commercial and government sectors. He is a specialist in large-scale data centre development and telecommunications solutions, with particular skill in strategic and master planning, procurement, telecommunications and networking, design, management and operations, contract negotiations and project recovery. Mike holds a number of Directorship positions across the ICT and telecommunications industry.
At this year’s 2016 DCW Global held in Las Vegas in March, Mike and Chris Goldstone, Managing Director at Strategic Directions presented a two hour premium pass session titled Defining Data Center Options as part the Total Cost of ICT Services.
This session discussed critical components of the TCO models and defined a common set of metrics for use, considering core business, supply, maintenance, infrastructure and staff costs that should be assessed when presenting TCO comparisons and metrics to business executives.
